PENGUINE UPDATE - Finally GOOGLE Took big action against spam 25th April, 2012 01:16 PM
At a recent conference Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam
team announced that Google was working on an algorithm update that
would level the playing field for sites that don’t participate
in “over-optimization” strategies. He later clarified
that “over-optimization” wasn’t the best way of
putting it because it is really about webspam. According to Cutts,
“The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe
are violating Google’s existing quality guidelines.”
Now Google Algorithm has been updated and this update is called
"Google Penguine" Update. This has resulted in lost of
rankings for thousands of webmasters and businesses temporarily.

(PLUS) + ----The real Face book Killer is Here 12th July, 2011 11:11 AM
Face book has been dominating the Social community industry for
years… Now, Google has launched a new social networking community
website (plus.google.com) that looks like eventually a Face book
killer.
It looks like a same social networking website, that are been designed
for years. That 3 column structure with the ability to typing a
message, insert the video, images, links that are automatically
executed in view of the annotation with thumbnails, set who sees
this message.

Penney Penalty Lifted? 24th May, 2011 07:15 PM
Responding to several questions about J.C. Penney, Cutts confirmed
our report earlier this week that the penalty was lifted after 90
days.
“We saw a valid reconsideration request” from JCP,
Cutts said, and explained that, after reviewing the request, Google
found that the company “did quite a bit of work to cleanup
what had been going on. You don’t want to be vindictive or
punitive, so after three months the penalty was lifted.” He
later added, “I think the penalty was tough and the appropriate
length.”
Google’s
Panda Update: International Rollout? 26th May, 2011 09:01 PM
Cutts said the Panda update will eventually roll out internationally, but he’s not sure how soon it’ll happen. Right now, Panda has rolled out beyond the U.S., but still only impacts English-language queries worldwide.
Google
+1 Button & Search Rankings 23rd May, 2011 11:11 PM
Cutts confirmed what Google said when the +1 button launched: Google
will use +1 activity to influence its search results. “It’s definitely
a signal we’re paying a lot of attention to,” Cutts said. “It has
tons of potential.
Google Panda - Google's Algorithm
Update 2011 21st April, 2011 10:15 AM
Google again uplifting it's search ranking formulas and algoithm
to remove huge spammy websites ranking high on competitive search
terms. This time Google engineers have decided to stop spamming
on the web and rank only those website who really deserve the high
rankings spots.
Google named this algorithm update as PANDA, and it will be affecting
many websites since it has launched live.
As of late March, Google is still rolling out this update. Site
owners are still tracking changes in their page rankings to try
to understand the Panda impact, with often inconsistent results.
Google Instant Expands, Adds Keyboard Navigation 30th September, 2010 10:18 AM
(By Matt McGee)
Google Instant is expanding. The company has just announced new
features and wider availability of the search-as-you-type feature.
Let’s start with the latter; Google says Instant is expanding in two ways:
Google Instant On Vertical Search Properties: In addition to being available on Google.com searches, Instant Search is now functioning on “many” of the vertical search options in Google’s left navigation column, like Videos, News, and Blogs.
Google Street View Reaches All 7 Continents; Yes, Even Antarctica 15th September, 2010 09:11 AM
Cue the privacy complaints from penguin lovers everywhere. These happy little creatures, sitting on a perch in the middle of Antarctica, have been captured by human cameras without their knowledge and permission and can now be seen on Google Street View. Quelle horreur!
Bad news for penguins is great news for the rest of us, because Google has just announced that Street View is now available on all seven continents. Street View imagery has been added in Brazil, Ireland, and Antarctica. (I plead ignorance: Shouldn’t it be called Glacier View?) Since road names and street addresses are hard to come by in Antarctica, Google has created a Street View image gallery to help get people started in Antarctica and other notable locations around the world.
SEO: To Outsource Or Develop In-House Resources? 26th April, 2010 10:17 AM
Online marketing is complex, and it seems that the number of factors you need to consider to make sure you have the optimal strategy is only increasing. Therefore, it might be tempting to conclude that SEO, or more broadly, online marketing, is something that needs to be outsourced. There is certainly a strong case to be made for hiring external expertise, but outsourcing your SEO strategy completely does have some disadvantages. On the other hand, bringing people in-house has some advantages, but requires in-house people to stay current with developments in the industry.
Today’s column will investigate the pros and cons of each approach, and the case for doing a bit of both.
Is Load-Speed the Ultimate Google Ranking Factor? 15th April, 2010 11:11 AM
Last week's post about load speeds on Google's Official Webmaster Central Blog finally confirmed the rumors which have abounded across the SEO sector for months - that Google now factors a site's load-speed when assessing its search ranking.
And while this announcement, which comes as no surprise to those with their finger on the Google pulse, has drawn a few favorable responses from blog commenters, the overwhelming majority of readers have expressed concerns and doubts about the soundness of Google's approach. At the forefront of these were questions primarily regarding the exact magnitude of any negative ranking impact carried by slow page loading speeds.

This post will answer all of those questions and many more. Prepare
for information overload, but in a good way.
We have used a wide variety of sources from around the Web. A full
list of source references is available at the bottom of the post

How do synonyms in Google results affect your rankings? 27th January, 2010 10:17 AM
Google has announced a major change in the way that they handle
search results by including synonyms for some words that may be
used in queries. How does this affect the position of your web pages
in Google's search results?
Why is it important that Google can deal with synonyms?
Google aims to display the best results for your search. For that
reason, it is important that Google's algorithm understands the
words that are used in the search query. An important part of understanding
the words is to understand synonyms.
Synonyms are words that can mean the same thing, for example "pictures"
and "photos". People searching for "sunset pictures"
are probably also interested in web pages that contain the words
"sunset photos".

the traditional methods of optimization.

Caffeine - Google's Algorithm Update 2010 11th December, 2009 11:32 AM
Google algorithm engineers have had a list of factors which may
significantly improve Google search results to its users. They work
step by step and always produce some logical and innovative updates.
The most recent update which is going to happen is “Google
Caffeine”.
This secret project first came into discussion in August 2009,
when Google’s software engineers publicly invited webmasters
to try the newer version of the search engine and provide their
feedback. However, Google then removed the page after the completion
of feedback.
Google Launches Site Performance Feature 05th December, 2009 10:32 AM
In mid-June, Google commenced an initiative known as "Let's
make the web faster." Late yesterday, the search giant performed
a follow-through of sorts with the release of an experimental feature
called "Site Performance."
Google's been growing more and more focused on speed in recent
weeks. Last month alone, there were two major developments as the
SPDY research project was announced and Matt Cutts indicated that
Google might make page speed a ranking
factor in 2010.

Official Google statement:
how to deal with bad inbound links 05th November, 2009 15:09 PM
Many webmasters think that low quality links or links from spammy
websites can have a negative effect on the ranking of their websites
on Google.
The problem with links from spammy websites is that it is very difficult
to do something against them. For example, a competitor could add
your website to a link farm network or the competitor could spam
with your URL.
Google has released an official statement about spammy links
This month, Google published
an official statement about low quality links in their webmaster
blog. Here are the main statements:
